Where do deleted images from a phone go?

  • 0

I was wondering. When an image is deleted from a phone, where do they actually go? This question is childish but i just need to know. Someone who is good with tech should please provide an answer.

When you delete a picture from your phone, it doesn’t really vanish into thin air! Instead, it’s a bit like cleaning your room but not throwing something away; you’re just making space for new things. The picture stays in a hidden spot on your phone’s storage, not visible to you, but it’s still there. It only completely disappears when new stuff, like more pictures or apps, comes along and uses up that space. That’s when the phone says, “Okay, I need this space now,” and overwrites the old picture with the new stuff.

And if you are wondering if the pictures go to the air,  here is what you need to know. The overwritten pictures don’t exactly go to the air! When a picture gets overwritten, it’s like reusing a piece of paper that already had something written on it. The new information covers up the old one.

When your phone needs space for something new, it might use the space where the old picture was. That old picture gets replaced by the new stuff you’re putting on your phone. So, it’s not stored in the air or anywhere else—it’s simply replaced by the new things you add to your phone.

I hope this answers your question. You can always share The Social Friend with your friends and family so they learn new stuff everyday.
